The Nurse-Family Partnership is an evidence based community health program that helps transform the lives of vulnerable mothers pregnant with their 1st child. Each mother served by the program is partnered with a registered nurse early in her pregnancy and receives ongoing nurse home visits that continue through her child's 2nd birthday.Click here to see the Nurse-Family Partnership Video produced by CBS News
This nationally researched program has been proven to be effective in affecting long-term outcomes for parents and children; increased self-sufficiency and family stability and decreased incidence of substance abuse, juvenile delinquency and school dropout rates. Independent research proves that communities benefit - every dollar invested can see a return of up to five dollars.
Participation in the program is entirely voluntary, as with all other Family Visitor Program services. There is no charge for participating in the Nurse-Family Partnership.
